ZAGREB, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) — Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on Friday applauds Moody’s decision to raise Croatia’s credit rating by two notches, from Baa2 to A3, with a stable outlook.
“This is a historic step forward for our country and an achievement of the government’s strategic goals. In addition to changing Croatia’s position on the global map for investors, this achievement is first and foremost important in the long term for a better quality of life for our citizens and better business environment for our businessmen,” Plenkovic said in a statement.
The A-level credit rating, he said, reflects the strength Croatia has today: the resilience of its economy, and the orderliness of public finances.
The Croatian government will continue creating the conditions for further growth in wages, pensions, and social benefits, along with extensive investments across the country, he said. ■
