Description

This is a 2 map set which shows where many of the homeowners resided in the town of Amityville, Babylon Township, Suffolk County, NY in 1888. These fine maps were recently reproduced on fine natural color parchment. They're 11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame or can be matted to fit a larger museum quality mat.
The pictures provided only show portions of the actual maps!

Contained on the maps are finely detailed locations of the homeowners of Amityville. The first map shows the entire Township of Babylon from Queens County to the town of Islip. Due to the large area covered on this map, the names are quite small yet are quite readable. There is also an inset map of Oak and Captree Islands. The second map shows the village of Amityville as it looked in 1888. Truly a great matching set. It's hard to make out the specifics from my poor picture however it's clearly detailed on the actual maps!
Some of the surnames which are printed are Spencer, Bourdette, Bennett, Ireland, Williams, Wood, Smith, Porter, Ketcham, Canfield, Birch, Fowler and so many more that it's impossible to list! Also indicated on the maps are schools, named streets, railroads and rivers/streams.
It would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything! What a great genealogical treasure to be able to locate the homes of one or more of your ancestors!  Multiple purchases can be combined for one shipping charge!
