Contained on the maps are finely detailed locations of the homeowners of the town of Chester. Due to the limited size of my scanner bed, portions of the maps may not be shown.  Please check out the pictures provided for greater detail! The first map (which is partially shown)  is that of the town or village view of Chester. This map shows the homesteads and farms with the owners named. The second map is that of the township of Chester which includes an inset map of the village of Winthrop. The third map (last 2 pictures) shows Winthrop and Deep River. Also shown on these maps are Jennings Pond, Cedar Lake and Deep Hollow Reservoir. This matching map also shows where everyone lived back then.
Some of the surnames which are clearly printed are Sullivan, Wilcox, Nully, White, Morse, Hungerford, Bushnell, Webb, Baker and so many more that it's impossible to list! Also indicated on the map are schools, named streets, railroads and rivers/streams.
This map set would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything! Find your old house and who lived in it back in 1874. What a great genealogical treasure to be able to locate the homes of one or more of your ancestors!
