This is a  3 map set of the towns of Colebrook & Norfolk, CT from 1874. This map set was recently reproduced on fine natural color parchment. They're 11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame.

Contained on the maps are finely detailed locations of the homeowners of the town of Colebrook. It's hard to make out the specifics from my scanned picture, however it is indeed crystal clear on the actual maps!  The first map (the 1st 2 pictures)  is that of the whole town of Colebrook with North Colebrook, Robertsville, West Norfolk and Millbrook. This map shows the homesteads and farms with the owners named.  The second map (the 3rd & 4th pictures) contains 3 inset maps of Colebrook Center, Colebrook River (where the reservoir is now) and Norfolk which shows the many homeowners and business owners. The third map (5th & 6th pictures) show the entire township of Norfolk.
Some of the surnames which are clearly printed are Barnes, Deming, Martin, Murphy, Vernon, Rockwell, Sawyer, Brown, Higgins, Fields, Lawrence, Smith and so many more that it's impossible to list! Also indicated on the map are schools, named streets, railroads, rivers/streams and the area how it looked before the existence of the Colebrook Reservoir. Other points of interest shown are Doolittle Lake, Benedict Pond, Tobey Pond, Crissey Pond (was Mud Pond), Beckley Pond and what the land looked like before it was declared Haystack Mountain State Park and Litchfield Hills State Park.
This map set would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything! Find your old house and who lived in it back in 1874.
