East New York New Lots NY 1873 Street Maps Nice Detail 4 Maps

This is a 4 map set which shows where some of the homeowners resided in the Village of East New York, New Lots Township, Kings County, New York in 1873. These fine maps were recently reproduced on fine natural color parchment. They're 11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame or can be matted to fit a larger museum quality mat.

Contained on the maps are finely detailed locations of some of the homeowners of East New York and New Lots. Due to large areas covered by the maps, many of the names of the homeowners are quite small and the more populated areas won't show surnames. The first map shows the entire town of New Lots from Brooklyn to Howard Beach. The second map shows a portion of the Village of East New York. The next 2 maps show sections of East New York. Truly a great matching set. It's hard to make out the specifics from my poor picture however it's clearly detailed on the actual maps!
Some of the surnames which are printed are Conner, Schenck, Palmer, Thompson, Farless, Kiser, Jackson, Conover, Peck, Drew and others. By looking at the maps it appears that alot has changed in the last 140  years. Like the name reflects, New Lots is basically just that, on both of the maps detailed lots and streets are all laid out for future development and many are numbered. Also indicated on the maps are schools, named streets, railroads and rivers/streams.
It would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything!
