Description
This is a two map set of the town ofFairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut from 1942
. This is in the middle of World War II and America was united in it's total contribution for freedom! Recently reproduced on fine natural color parchment, these maps are each 11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame or can be matted to fit a larger museum quality mat.
The pictures provided only show portions of the actual maps!
Please contact me with any questions!
Contained on these maps are finely detailed locations of some of the homeowners of
Fairfield
. Due to the limited size of my scanner bed, portions of the maps may not be shown. Please check out the pictures provided for better detail.
The two maps combined show the entire town of Fairfield as it looked in 1942.
It's hard to make out the specifics from my poor picture, however it is indeed crystal clear on the actual maps! Some of the surnames which are clearly printed are Banks, Ferris, Sherwood, Stoddard, Jennings, Wilson, Bradley, Putney and so many more that it's impossible to list! Please note that due to the vast area that these maps cover, many of the homeowners names are quite small. Also indicated on the maps are schools, churches, cemeteries, railroads and rivers/streams.
This matching set would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything! Simply have it framed, gift wrap it and give instant pleasure.  What a great genealogical treasure to be able to locate the homes of one or more of your ancestors! Multiple purchases can be combined for one shipping charge! Please check out my other listings for many other fine old town maps!
These maps make wonderful gifts and really are quite the conversation piece.
