This is a map of the Town of Hockanum, CT from 1869.  This map was recently reproduced on fine natural color parchment. It's 11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame.

Contained on the map are finely detailed locations of the homeowners of the towns or villages of Hockanum, Burnside & Naubuc of East Hartford. A feature shown on the Naubuc inset map is the Connecticut Arms & Mfg Co. Founded by Henry & Lewis Hammond in 1863 they became famous for producing the "Bulldog" pistol. Many of which found their way onto the Civil War battlefields. The company is now located in North Dakota and the land where the many factories once stood is now sports fields.
Some of the surnames which are clearly printed are Easton, Walker, Riley, Cornish, Porter, Smith, Welch, Hills, Brewer and so many more that it's impossible to list! Also indicated on the map are schools, named streets, railroads and rivers/streams.
