Description
IThis is a map which shows where everyone lived in The Village of Inwood Long Island, New York in 1873. Recently reproduced on fine natural color parchment, this map is 11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame or can be matted to fit a larger museum quality mat.
The pictures provided show only a portion of each actual map.
Contained on the map are finely detailed locations of the homeowners of Inwood (then named Westville or North West Point) and there is also a small inset map of the village of Little Neck. Some of the surnames which are clearly printed are Wanser, Lawrence, Kenney, Lord, Jarvis, Cole, Dodge, Williams, Abrams, Warren, Craft, Smith, Combs and so many more that it's impossible to list! Also indicated on the map are schools, churches, cemeteries, businesses, named streets, railroads and rivers/streams.
It would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything! What a great genealogical treasure to be able to locate the homes of one or more of your ancestors!
