MAKER:  This bears an unusal mark circa 1850's this was made at the Derby King Street factory after the death of the Bloor brothers (1845 & 1846).  After their deaths many of the workmen left for Worcester and Staffordshire but a small manufactory remained at the Old Derby factory when this would have been made.  Courtney had been one of the Bloors agents and was apparently involved in the manufactory after their deaths.
