Description

This is a group of 2 map sets of which contain the towns of Lewisboro, Poundridge, Cross River and South Salem, NY from 1911.  (plates 44 & 45) Recently reproduced on fine natural color parchment these map sets are 11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame.
The pictures provided show only portions of the actual maps, please feel free to contact me with any questions!
Contained on the maps are finely detailed locations of the homeowners and landowners around the towns or villages of Lewisboro, Poundridge, Cross River, Boutonville, Twin Lakes Village, Vista, Scotts Corners, Horseshoe Hill and South Salem.
Due to the limited size of my scanner bed only portions of the maps may be shown. Please check out the pictures supplied for greater detail.
The first map set (first 2 pictures) shows the Northern section of Poundridge and Lewisboro. This map set contains the towns of Cross River, South Salem, Boutonville and Waccabuc.
This second map set (3rd & 4th pics) contains the towns of Poundridge, Lewisboro, Scotts Corners, Horseshoe Hill, Sarles Corners, Vista and East Woods. For better clarity each of the map sets are split into two, East view and West view. Two views on two maps-- Nice set!! Some of the current day and past features shown in this group are Lake Waccabuc, Waccabuc Country Club, Lake Rippowan, Lake Oscaleta, Cross Pond ( now Lake Kitchawan), Trinity Lake, Cross River Reservoir and Mill River.
Some of the estate or land owners which are clearly printed are Anderson, Webb, Reynolds, Rich, Wallace, Bailey, Todd, Armstrong, Ayres, Hull, Hoe, Craft, Biddle, Lockwood, Webster, Hoyt, Mead and so many more that it's impossible to list!  It also shows next to the owners name the amount of acres. Also indicated on the map are schools, named streets, railroads and rivers/streams. Please note that due to the vast area covered, the more heavily populated towns won't show homeowners names-- just not enough space to list them.
These two maps sets would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything!
What a great genealogical treasure to be able to locate the homes of one or more of your ancestors!
