Description

This is a two map set which shows where everyone lived in the Towns of New Canaan and Ridgefield, Fairfield County, Connecticut in 1867 and  were reproduced on fine natural color parchment They're 11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame or can be matted to fit a larger museum quality mat.
The pictures provided show portions of the actual maps! Please contact for more information!
Contained on the maps are finely detailed locations of the homeowners of New Canaan and Ridgefield along with the villages of Ponus, Silvermine, Pinneys Corners, Sellecks Corners & Talmadge Hill (was Millville). Due to the limited size of my scanner bed, portions of the maps may not be shown. Please check out the attached pictures for greater detail.
The first map shows the entire town of New Canaan and the second shows the village area of New Canaan and has an inset map of Ridgefield. There is also a business directory for New Canaan.  Some of the surnames which are clearly printed are Bishop, Weed, Lockwood, Ferris, Seeley, Whitney, Abbott, Hoyt, Scofield, Raymond, Jones and so many more that it's impossible to list! Also indicated on the maps are schools,  streets, railroads and rivers/streams.
This two map matching set would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything! What a great genealogical treasure to be able to locate the homes of one or more of your ancestors!
Multiple purchases can be combined for one shipping charge!  Please check out my other listings for many other fine old town maps!
