This is a 5 map set of the Town of Old Saybrook, CT from 1874. This map set was recently reproduced on fine natural color parchment. They're 11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame. Contained on the maps are finely detailed locations of the homeowners of Old Saybrook.
The pictures provided only show portions of the actual maps!
The first map (first picture)  shows the entire Township of Old Saybrook including the villages of Saybrook Manor, Fenwick, Knollwood, Saybrook Point, Otter Cove Estates & Fenwood.  The second map (2nd & 3rd pictures) contains an exploded view of Old Saybrook Town.  As in the first map, shown are the many homeowners and business names. The third map shows the planned layout of New Saybrook with the many established unoccupied lots at the time. The fourth map shows Saybrook Manor which was called Oyster River Farms. The 5th map is a topographical map (last 2 pics) of Old Saybrook and surrounding towns from 1893.  Some of the surnames which are clearly printed are Ward, Bushnell, Actin, Chapin, Phelps, Dickinson, Rogers, Bates, Sheffield, Day, Bull and so many more that it's impossible to list!
Also indicated on the map are schools, businesses, railroads and rivers/streams.  Some of the many items of interest on this map are South Cove, North Cove, Pequot Swamp Pond, Crystal Lake and Obed Heights Reservoir This map set would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything! Find your old house and who lived in it back in 1874.
