    Coca-Cola Blak
    (stylized as
    Coca-Cola BlāK
    ) was a coffee-flavored soft drink introduced by Coca-Cola in 2006 and discontinued in 2008. The mid-calorie drink was introduced first in France and subsequently in other markets, including Czech Republic, Slovakia and Lithuania.
    Coca-Cola Blak
    launched in the United States
    on April 3, and in Canada on August 29, 2006.  In August 2007, trade magazine Beverage Digest noted that Coca-Cola would discontinue the drink within the United States.
    The French and Canadian versions of Coca-Cola Blak were sweetened with sugar.  The U.S. version of Coca-Cola Blak replaced sugar with high fructose corn syrup, aspartame and acesulfame potassium.  Consumer taste-testers found the French version to be less sweet and to contain more coffee flavor.
    The American and Canadian versions had a plastic resealable cap on a glass bottle that resembled the classic Coke bottle, where the French/Czech version was a bottle shape formed in aluminum.
    This item is a rare advertising relic from that failed attempt by Coca-Cola.  These superior quality mini pens were probably in some Coke executive's desk drawer to give out to visitors as marketing pieces.  Since Coca-Cola Blak disappeared so quickly, a bunch of these probably got thrown in the trash can.  I have searched for these thoroughly online, but can't find even one example.  That tells me that the supply of these cool pens is extremely limited.
    This smaller sized pen is only about 4" long and is made from sturdy black plastic.  The clip and center ring are made of silver metal.  The Coca-Cola Blak logo is prominently displayed on the top half of the pen next to the clip.  You can tell that this pen is well made, somewhat like a Cross pen, in that the top half pops off to show the turning mechanism for the pen point.  The ink refill screws into the bottom to secure it.  In order to write, simply twist the top of the pen to reveal the writing tip.  The pen has been tested and does write in black ink.
    This item is in NEW, never been used condition.  I have 10 of them in this auction and when they are gone, they're gone.  They are a cool advertising item that only a select few Coca-Cola lovers can have in their collection. Now YOU can be one of them!  I have tested all 10 of them and they work well.
