Description

This is a map of The Town of Shelton, Fairfield County, CT from 1867.  Recently reproduced on fine natural color parchment, it's 11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame.
The pictures provided only show portions of the actual maps!
Please contact me with any questions!
Contained on the map are finely detailed locations of the homeowners of the Towns of Shelton & Huntington. Due to the limited size of my scanner bed, portions of the maps may not be shown. Please check out the attached pictures for greater detail.  Please note that many of the names are quite small due to the expansive area covered.
Some of the surnames which are clearly printed are Beard, Baldwin, Shelton, Wheeler, Smith, French, Lewis, Wakelee, Ritchie, Blackman, Hurd, Hubbell and so many more that it's impossible to list! The names shown are indeed very small yet can be read. Some of the features of this map are The Housatonic River, Farmill River, Isinglass Reservoir (before it was there) and Trap Falls Reservoir (before it was there as well). Also indicated on the map are schools, named streets, railroads and rivers/streams.
It would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything!
What a great genealogical treasure to be able to locate the homes of one or more of your ancestors!
