Contained on the maps are finely detailed locations of the homeowners and landowners around the Town of Somers and a section of Lewisboro. Due to the size of my scanner bed, the pictures show only a portion of the actual maps. Please check out the pictures provided for greater detail. The first map (shown) is that of the north part of Westchester County involving the townships of Somers, Lewisboro and Bedford which is known as map set plate 42. This map set contains the towns of Lincolndale, Baldwin Place, Shenorock, Lake Lincolndale, Croton Falls, Goldens Bridge, Lake Purdy, Butlerville, Horton Estates and Valley Pond Estates, Bedford Hills, Katonah, Heritage Hills, Somers Center, Whitehall Corners and Lake Kotonah.  For better clarity each of the map sets are split in half East view and West view. Two views on two maps-- Nice set!!
Some of the estate or land owners which are clearly printed are Barrett, Ferris, Hoppin, Edwards, Merriman, Todd, O'Shea, Weiler, Lyons, Fowler, Turner, Reese, Hopper, Crane and so many more that it's impossible to list!  It also shows next to the owners name the amount of acres. Some of the past and present day features covered within this map set area include Cross River Reservoir, Croton Reservoir, Anglebrook Golf Club, Amawalk Reservoir, Muscoot River, Croton River, Somers Reis Park, Somers Pointe Golf Club, East Hill Golf Course, Croton Creek and Muscoot Reservoir. Also indicated on the map are schools, named streets, railroads and rivers/streams.
Please note that due to the vast area covered, the more heavily populated towns won't show homeowners names-- just not enough space to list them. These two maps sets would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything! What a great genealogical treasure to be able to locate the homes of one or more of your ancestors!
